Instituto Politécnico Nacional
Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) is a Mexican state-owned institution that is devoted to higher education and research. It was established in Mexico City in 1936, under the presidency of Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, following the country's revolutionary ideals of reconstruction in order to provide the then defenceless with a professional training, as well as to encourage the country's industrial and economic development and to meet the needs of the Mexican population.
With a high academic level, it is one of the most prestigious and relevant education institutions in Mexico, having 300.000 students, 271 degrees and 81 academic units. It is a leading, cutting-edge institution concerning technical and professional training in the fields of management, science, engineering and new technologies.
